Costa Blanca Ridges Before heading to Costa Blanca I’d […]
I’m Stu McInnes, and I run The Climbing Company! We’re based in Pembrokeshire, but spend the winter months in the Scottish Highlands running our winter courses, and spend plenty of time in North Wales delivering our mountain courses.
With over 20 years of climbing experience across the globe in all disciplines of climbing, I’m passionate about enabling others to get out on their own adventures. I thrive on helping people learn new skills, build confidence, and develop towards new goals. Each day with me is relaxed, fun, and tailored to your individual needs. My aim is to provide a positive, supportive environment where you can develop and enjoy the journey.
I’ve been fortunate enough to tick off dream climbs and mountains throughout my career, and still carry the same excitement I had as an eighteen-year-old, setting off to climb independently in the Alps over twenty years ago. Holding the highest UK qualifications for climbing and mountaineering, both summer and winter, I’m now in the fortunate position of training and guiding others to go on their own adventures.
FIND OUT MOREStu holds the WMCI (Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor), the highest UK qualification for both summer and winter climbing and mountaineering.
With over two decades of climbing experience around the world in all disciplines, I remain as active and passionate as ever – I’m still an obsessed climber!
Climbing and mountaineering are our way of life. Every day off, every holiday – we’re out there climbing, exploring, and constantly honing our skills and having adventures.
Stu is a full member of the AMI (Association of Mountaineering Instructors) and MTA (Mountain Training Association), with extensive CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and a commitment to ongoing learning.
We strive to run courses in a fun, relaxed, and friendly environment. Each day is tailored to your pace, current skills, and future goals. We encourage questions and value your involvement in the decision-making and safety processes. Learning should be fun and enlightening – even when pushing your limits! We aim for you to feel empowered and confident, ready to head out and enjoy your own adventures.
Pembrokeshire is home, and I’ve spent many thousands of days exploring the coast here. We’ve spent over fifteen winters in Scotland and are regular visitors to Snowdonia, where we run many courses.
We only use the highest-qualified, most experienced instructors to ensure your safety. We’re fully insured, with robust risk assessments and procedures in place, and only use top-quality equipment.
